Southwest Florida Yachts Expands Charter Fleet
Nomad, a Camano 31 Trawler, makes for a comfortable
and affordable vacation in paradise

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla., May 28, 2009 Southwest Florida Yachts (SWFY) has added another power cruiser to its charter fleet available for cruising and exploring the scenic barrier island waterways from Fort Myers to Punta Gorda.

Nomad, a Camano 31 trawler, becomes the 15th charter vessel in the company's power fleet at Marinatown Marina in N. Fort Myers. Southwest Florida Yachts, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, also operates a sailing charter fleet from Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda.

Barb Hansen of Southwest Florida Yachts said Nomad makes an ideal cruising vessel for one couple or a family with small children. It features a double berth in the forward cabin and a convertible berth in the salon for two.  Nomad cruises smoothly and affordably with a Volvo 210 hp diesel engine that, at cruising speed, uses only 2 or 3 gallons per hour. A bow-thruster helps make docking easy.

Amenities include air conditioning, galley, dinette, refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, stereo, AM/FM Stereo, CD player, flat panel TV, DVD player, teak interior, and teak and holly flooring.  The vessel is equipped with showers in the head and on the aft deck. From either command center, high on the bridge or inside the cabin, the skipper views a full complement of electronics including Garmin GPS, VHF, depth sounder, and autopilot.

Extra Cruising Days

Nomad typically charters for only $1,819 for five days in the summer season and $2,273 in the high season. Through 2010, as part of the company's 25th anniversary, charterers receive extra cruising days for every charter of three days or more, one extra day when cruising between Dec. 15 and April 30 and two free days when cruising between May 1 and Dec. 14.

Founded in 1984, Southwest Florida Yachts also charters sailing yachts from 24 to 34 feet, including catamarans, out of Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda.

Southwest Florida has been ranked among the top ten yacht sailing and cruising areas in the world and the barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva have scored as the best islands to visit for their ambiance, beaches, friendliness, restaurants and scenery.
