Trawler to Power-Yacht Charter Fleet

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. –Southwest Florida
Yachts has added a 32-foot twin-engine trawler to
its power-yacht charter fleet for cruising bareboat
or with a captain through the famous barrier island
vacation chain of Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa,
Gasparilla, and Useppa.
KON TIKI, manufactured by Island Gypsy, features
sleeping for four plus amenities like air
conditioning and heat, refrigerator, stove,
microwave, AM/FM Stereo with CD player, color TV
with VCR, Bimini top, flybridge cushions, GPS
navigation, depth sounder, and a dinghy with
outboard motor.
KON TIKI, powered by efficient twin 130 hp Volvo
diesels, cruises at 8 knots and can be piloted from
either of two helm stations with full engine
instrumentation. Barb Hansen, founder and manager of
Southwest Florida yachts, said the KON TIKI charters
for $2,391 for seven days in the winter and $1,914
in the summer.
KON TIKI joins ten other vessels from 32 to 42 feet
in length in the power-yacht fleet based at
Marinatown Marina, N. Fort Myers. Southwest Florida
Yachts also charters sailing vessels from 24 to 35
feet from Burnt Store Marina, Punta Gorda, Florida.
Barb and Vic Hansen founded Southwest Florida Yachts
in1984. They also manage Florida Sailing & Cruising
School in which students live aboard while they
learn to operate and navigate vessels of different
sizes and complexity.
