NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla., Nov. 23, 2009 –
Sojourner, an Island Packet 31 sloop praised for
its style and comfort, has joined Southwest
Florida Yachts (SWFY) charter fleet for sailing
and cruising the sunshine state's celebrated
waters from Punta Gorda to Captiva Island.
Sojourner joins the SWFY charter fleet at Burnt
Store Marina in Punta Gorda, which gives charters
quick access to the open water sailing on
Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico as well as
to deep channel motoring to popular ports of call
like Boca Grande, Useppa, Cabbage Key, Pine,
Sanibel and Captiva Islands.
Barb Hansen of Southwest Florida Yachts said the
wide-beamed vessel is probably the most
comfortable of its size making it an ideal sailing
vessel for two couples or a family of four. It
features a double berth in the forward cabin. A
convertible berth in the salon sleeps up to four
more. Headroom is 6' 3". The air-conditioned
interior is finished in teak and holly. Amenities
include AM/FM radio with CD player, Sirius XM
radio and TV. The galley is equipped with a
refrigerator, two burner propane stove and oven.
For motoring the channels and for marina
maneuvering Sojourner has a new three cylinder,
30-hp Yanmar inboard engine. In the cockpit wheel
steering is complemented by navigation and
plotting tools including compass, marine charts
and cruising guides, depth sounder and GPS
plotter.
Sojourner is one of five vessels in the company's
sail fleet at Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda.
Southwest Florida Yachts, now celebrating its 25th
anniversary, has offices at Marinatown Marina, N.
Fort Myers, which is also headquarters for its
power fleet of ten luxury trawlers up to 43 feet
and a 28' day cruiser.
Amenities aboard Sojourner include air
conditioning, galley, dinette,
refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, stereo,
AM/FM Stereo, CD player, flat panel TV, DVD

25th anniversary, charterers receive one extra
cruising day for charters of three days or more
when cruising between Dec. 15 and April 30 and two
free days when cruising between May 1 and Dec. 14.
Southwest Florida consistently ranks as one of the
best sailing and cruising areas in the world. The
visitor-oriented barrier islands of Sanibel and
