Florida Sailing & Cruising School Announces Summer School Specials

April 17,  2007

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. –Florida Sailing & Cruising School, the liveaboard yacht school, has announced 2007 summer school pricing specials that allows four persons to take any sail or power yachting course and pay tuition for only three students.

Students can take advantage of the substantial discount by signing up for a course between July 1 and October 31.  Courses are designed for a maximum of four students, two per cabin.  An experienced U.S. Coast Guard-certified captain provides personalized instruction.

“This is the most fun you’ll ever have at any summer school, and you’ll learn a lot, too,” said Barb Hansen, co-founder and manager. She said liveaboard instruction and cruising during the summer discount special is ideal for two couples or for couples who want to help their coming-of-age children and grandchildren advance their yachting skills and accept more responsibility

During the summer special period, a tuition for four people living and learning for three days aboard a Grand Banks 32 trawler is just $3,285 instead of $4,380.  For four sailors, tuition for the three-day Bareboat Charter course is $2,685 instead of $3,580.

Florida Sailing & Cruising School’s Powerboat 103 course, an eight-day course that includes an offshore excursion aboard a twin-engine trawler, is $8,985 for four powerboaters instead of $11,980.

Four sailors who take the 12-day Offshore Adventure course, a combination of Sailing courses from S101 to S106, pay just $9,585 instead of $12,780.

Hansen and her husband Vic founded Florida Sailing & Cruising School in 1984. They also manage Southwest Florida Yachts which charters sail and power yachts for cruising the celebrated Gulf of Mexico and inland waterway coastlines of Southwest Florida.

Sailing courses are held at sailing fleet headquarters—Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda.  Since 1985 Florida Sailing and Cruising School is a certified teaching facility of the American Sailing Association (ASA).

Courses in powerboat safety, handling and cruising are held at company headquarters at Marinatown Marina on the Caloosahatchee in N. Fort Myers just across the riverfrom the city of Fort Myers.  Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers is about 45 minutes by car from Florida Sailing & Cruising School.
