Twenty
Reasons To Select
The SFY Charter Program
|
On-Site
Management
Your
yacht will be under the watchful eye of
our on-site management team seven days a
week. We are not off in a remote office
somewhere, while your yacht is left unattended.
We take pride in the fact that your yacht
is receiving personal care.
- Office
And Operations Fully Staffed
Our
office is open seven days a week, from 0800
- 1700, for the convenience of our charter
clients and boat owners with an 800 number,
fax and after-hours answering machine for
your convenience. Both of our operations
bases are also staffed. We do not "close
down" during the summer. In fact, every
year our "off" season activity
increases and our office is busy year round.
- Staff
Of Marine Professionals
Our
staff is professional, knowledgeable and
experienced in the marine field. Vic Hansen,
with over 40 years of boating experience,
personally selects and trains our personnel
who will care for your yacht.
- Modern
Professional Office
We
are not a big company, by some standards;
however, we believe that you don't have
to be big to be professional. We maintain
a neat, well-run central office in North
Fort Myers. In addition, our Burnt Store
operation maintains an office at that marina.
We are proud of the efforts we have made
to modernize our office procedures through
computerization, our extensive website,
and a new telephone system. Our office is
open every day of the year with the exception
of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's
Day.
- Marine
Resort Facilities
Both
SFY charter bases are located at modern
marine resort facilities, complete with
swimming pools, tennis and fine dining.
Marinatown and Burnt Store Marinas offer
cruising comfort and convenience to both
charterers and owners. As an owner, you
will have full use of the resort amenities.
In fact, some of our clients just like to
stay at the dock and enjoy.
Your
Yacht Is In U.S. Coastal Waters
As an owner, you can be assured that your
yacht is in "local" waters most
of the time. We do not permit cruising outside
of Florida coastal waters unless a qualified
Captain is aboard. From our experience we
know that, in the long run, your boat will
see much "easier" use than those
of charter operations in other parts of
the world. Environmental factors and the
cruising grounds of the area are, overall,
much "kinder" to our yachts. There
is no shortage of fresh water to clean your
boat, the sand and mud bottom of the local
area is easy on your boat's bottom, and
the natives are very friendly!
- Consistent
Marketing And Advertising
Our local, national and international
marketing programs are consistently high
in quality. We have won awards for our promotional
materials. Our ads are not the biggest,
but are some of the most creative in the
industry. Our Newsletter, The YARDARM, has
customers awaiting its arrival. The professional
on-site signage of both of our charter bases
is eye-catching and effective. In addition,
we believe in not scaling-down on advertising,
but rather increasing its use on a targeted
basis every year. A large part of our budget
each year is spent on graphic design, advertising
and promotion to insure that the quality
of our marketing efforts continues. SFY
has also been featured in SAIL, MOTORBOATING
& SAILING and in SAILING magazines, among
others.
- Call
Us Toll-Free, 1-800-262-7939
In 1987 we went toll-free! This was part
of our continuing effort to better serve
our charterers and boat owners. While, at
the time, it was a big step for a small
company, we have been very pleased with
the results of our efforts.
- Professional
Record Keeping
We realize that your charter yacht is
a business. We also recognize our responsibility
in maintaining proper business records on
your behalf. You will receive computerized
invoices and statements monthly. You will
also receive a charter activity statement
at the end of each month along with your
check for any charters or classes that month.
In addition, we maintain your yachts Documentation
and Registration papers in current status
at all times. We ensure that your yacht
has an annual Coast Guard safety inspection
and that any matters relating to your yacht
are handled in a timely manner. In short,
we take care of all of your yacht's business,
so you don't have to.
- Immediate
Service To Customers Afloat
SFY
maintains a company "chase boat"
for serving our charter clients and boat
owners alike. We work with an on-the-water
service company which is on call 24-hours
a day to provide assistance our fleet. We
also have a spare parts inventory on hand
for routine and emergency maintenance. Both
SFY charter bases are equipped with complete
tools and maintenance supplies for ease
and efficiency in effecting repairs. We
can respond to any request for assistance
from our clients as soon as we are notified.
- Your
Time To Enjoy
There are no limits on the time you
may spend aboard your yacht. We don't "give"
you a certain number of weeks. Your cruising
schedule is up to you. We just ask that
you advise us, in advance, of your plans
to use your yacht. Then, if we receive a
charter request for that time, you will
be notified and given the opportunity to
charter the yacht or to take your vacation
as planned.
- Immediate
Payment to You Guaranteed
We
have never missed a payment of charter proceeds
to an owner. We are very proud of that record.
Other companies may make that promise; our
record speaks for itself. We don't "hold"
your proceeds either; or conveniently deduct
what you owe us from what we owe you. We
make our payments to you at the end of each
month.
- A
Bonus: Commissions On Charters
As a SFY owner, you may increase your
charter revenues by another means: referrals.
Successful referrals will earn you a 10%
commission after the charter. You simply
supply us with the names, and we'll do all
the work. If those people whose names you
give to us then book their first SFY charter,
on your boat or any SFY charter yacht, you'll
earn the 10%. These revenues can mean more
profits for you and your yacht.
- Fleet
Insurance Our Proven Record
You will insure your yacht under our
fleet insurance program. All SFY vessels
must be insured by our charter yacht fleet
policy. We are proud of our insurance record.
In addition, each charterer is required
to pay a damage deposit in the amount of
the full deductible of the yacht. If a charterer
damages your yacht; they will pay for it.
It's that simple. Be assured that having
your boat in charter service will not cause
it to deteriorate. In most cases, our yachts
are in better shape after three years than
most private yachts.
- Special
Promotions Mean More Charter Opportunities
Our "off" season marketing
efforts have succeeded in turning the traditionally
slow months into active charter months.
These activities mean additional revenues
for you!
- Teaching
Cruising Both Power and Sail Selling
Fun Afloat
The Florida Sailing and Cruising School,
a division of Southwest Florida Yachts,
Inc., offers additional revenue-producing
opportunities for your yacht. In addition
to year-around class revenues, we know from
experience that successful students often
return as charterers year after year.
- In
The End A Yacht In Excellent Condition
Your SFY charter yacht will receive
the best care we can provide. We conduct
routine maintenance and mechanical service
on a regular, scheduled basis. Of course,
we want to keep your yacht in top condition
to insure the success of each charter. And
when you use your yacht, you can be sure
that she is in top shape. There is another
benefit too. At the end of your yacht's
charter program she will still be in "yacht"
condition, ready for either resale or retirement
to her home port.
- Resale
Assistance Or Delivery Home
SFY offers several post-ownership assistance
programs. At contract's end you may choose
to sell your yacht. Vic Hansen is a licensed
Florida Yacht broker, and we offer complete
brokerage services to assist you. In addition
your yacht can remain in charter, producing
income for you, while she is being marketed,
right up until your closing date. Another
option is to retire your yacht to your home
port for your personal use. Whether "home"
is Ft. Myers or San Francisco, we will assist
in every aspect of decommissioning. We can
arrange for delivery by water or land, and
will discuss all the options with you to
insure a smooth transition. Finally, you
may choose to leave your yacht under our
care. Whether in charter service or not,
we will continue to manage and maintain
your vessel, and have it ready for you each
time you take her out yourself.
The
SFY Success Story
Our reputation has been built on hard
work, knowledge, dedication and a commitment
to service. Our program is straightforward.
We won't make promises we can't keep. Our
continuous growth and stability are unmatched
in the local charter industry. Those who
charter with us often return again and again.
Our yacht owners know that their yacht is
kept in tip-top condition. We take our business
responsibilities very seriously; so that
you can enjoy the pleasures of yacht ownership
without the worries.
- Part
Of The Family
We have had many yacht owners over the
years. We have gotten to know all of them
on a personal basis. It is more than a business
relationship that we share. We have helped
many people realize their dream of owning
a fine yacht. Others, we have introduced
to a cruising area they thought only existed
in the pages of sailing magazines. And for
some, we have provided them with the means
for retiring afloat, after covering the
initial expense of yacht ownership through
chartering. No matter what their personal
profile may be; and they are as varied as
their yachts, each SFY owner is a member
of our "family". We invite you
to consider joining our family too.
